Grand Auctions has been invited to host a weekend of free auction valuations at Staines-upon-Thames together with Paul Martin, the well known TV presenter of Flog It! The Staines-upon-Thames committee has sent out a press release about this unusual weekend:
“Folkestone-based Grand Auctions, one of the region’s premier auctioneers and valuers, was invited to host the Antiques Roadshow style event in the Market Square at Staines-upon-Thames by the team responsible for promoting the town’s tourism and visitor economy.
Alison Cawley, Managing Director of Grand Auctions, said the company was picked to organise the event on 16th & 17th September
thanks to its contacts and reputation within the antiques trade in the country.
“Not only were we delighted to be chosen to host the valuation, but also to be joined by Paul Martin, who is an acknowledged expert on high quality furniture. We hope people will flock to the event and we look forward to unearthing some hidden gems.”

Stephen Gould, Vice Chairman of the Staines-upon-Thames Business Improvement District (BID), said the valuation event was doing a tremendous job of raising
the profile of the town and helping to put it on the map.
“We are urging people to come along to the free valuation days to get their prized possessions valued by the experts from Grand Auctions. You can then choose to take your items to auction on a no-sale-no fee basis. TV presenter Paul Martin will be present each day to share his knowledge, interest and experience,” he added.
On hand to advise on paintings, prints and sculptures will be Jonathan Riley and master printer Charles Newington, while Robin Newcombe and Simon Valentine will cast their expert eyes over Asian art, silver, ceramics and glass. Simon Rufus and Marco Meninno will be on the look out for jewellery, watches and clocks of distinction. Probate and insurance valuations are also offered by the firm with further details available on the day.
