This weekend, 28th and 29th January 2017, we are holding two valuation days at St Mary’s Church in Putney. We will be in The Cromwell Room, St Mary’s Church, High Street, Putney SW15 1SN. The church is just the south side of Putney Bridge. We will be there from 11.00 am – 3.00 pm on Saturday 28th, and from 12.00 noon – 3.00 pm on Sunday 29th.
We are offering free auction valuations of any item you care to bring in to show us; from jewellery to sculptures, silverware to prints, paintings to ceramics
and gold items to glassware! If you wish to consign your item for our next sale in February, we will provide you with a full receipt and take the fully
insured item back to our main offices in Folkestone for the auction.
Over the years we have received many surprising and interesting items to look at. A young lady brought in some jewellery she had inherited from her grandmother. She felt the items were too ‘old fashioned’ for her to wear and wanted to sell them in order to raise money to fly and join her boyfriend abroad. Amongst the items was a beautiful brooch of a scarecrow by Van Cleef & Arpels - an identical brooch to the one Jackie Onassi had owned and which had recently been sold along with the rest of her estate jewellery. The young lady was very pleased with the resulting sale!
On another occasion we were asked to look at a full size model of Marilyn Monroe in her famous stance over the subway vent. This was produced as an advertising gimmick for the film “The Seven Year Itch”. We were very sad when she had to leave our premises!
So hopefully you will be able to join us in Putney. No item is too big or too small. We look forward to seeing you there!
