Pierre Mortier (1661 - 1711) A rare Dutch engraved 'Theatre of War in Spain and Portugal' map, circa 1708. The upper section is illustrated with a map depicting part of Spain including Murcia and Valencia, the coastline of Almeria to Valencia and the Balearics. The lower right section depicts an elaborate, inscribed cartouche enclosed by a wartime scene lead by King Charles VI, the Holy Roman Emperor, also known as King of Hungary, Croatia, Serbia and Archduke of Austria (Charles III). Pierre Mortimer was a Dutch engraver, map seller and publisher based in Vygendam, Amsterdam. Framed. 19.3 in (49 cm) x 23.7 in (60.3 cm).
