John Noorthouck, an engraved Plan of the City and Liberties of London, showing the extent of the Dreadful Conflagration in the year 1666. Taken from 'A new History of London, including Westminster and Suffolk', by John Noorthouck. Engraved in 1772 and printed for the publisher R. Baldwin, 47 Pater-Noster Row in 1773. This map illustrates the true, vast extent of the Great Fire of London and includes a reference to all the churches both in the city and suburbs as well as references to remarkable places. This particular version is based upon Wenceslaus Hollar's 1666 map of the Great Fire of London entitled 'A Map or Groundplot of the City of London and the suburbs'. Framed. 8.9 in (22.5 cm) x 14.3 in (36.3 cm).
