HRH Charles Prince of Wales b1948, Wensleydale from Moorcock
HRH Charles Prince of Wales b1948, Wensleydale from Moorcock. 9.75 x 15 ins., (24.5 x 38 cms.). Signed and Dated with monogram C.90, Lithograph 148/295. The prints were produced to raise money for the Prince of Wales Charities Trust. Prince Charles is continuing the royal family's connection with art. Queen Victoria, Prince Albert and most of their children were keen amateur artists. Lithographs were made of their work to help good causes, such as the Patriotic Fund to help the dependents of soldiers fighting in Crimea. Each of the five prints is beautifully presented in a blue linen bound portfolio which is bound with The Prince of Wales's Feathers Badge. The lithographs for sale were the first produced by HRH Prince Charles in collaboration with Stanley Jones. Both he and Jones met frequently reworking each separate colour with reference to the colours which the Prince regularly uses in his water colours. The close cooperation so essential in the print making process makes each lithograph an original work of art in its own right.
