Carey, Joseph William 1859-1937 Irish. Twenty Nine Watercolours of a trip to Scotland. All watercolours and are titled. Varying sizes 6.25 x 9 ins. to 4.5 x 9 ins. Carey was an active member of the Belfast art scene and was a founder member of the Belfast Ramblers Sketching Club and the Belfast Society. He regularly exhibited at the RHA and a number of galleries in Belfast. We owe a debt to the railway system that allowed artists to visit out of the way places in Scotland, especially in the Highlands. There are 29 delightful watercolour sketches.
