An interesting miniature oak chest constructed with recovered timber from the H.M.S. Royal George. Of rectangular form, reinforced with iron bound corners and an iron escutcheon to the faux key hole, the hinged cover inset to the exterior with a steel plaque engraved with the words 'A RELIC OF H.M.S. ROYAL GEORGE SUNK IN 1782 RAISED IN 1840 THE GIFT OF R B OVERTON' with an oil painting depicting the sinking of the HMS Royal George depicted to the interior side. 2.2 in (5.6 cm) height, 4.8 in (12.1 cm) width, 2.8 in (7.1 cm) depth.
