A sterling silver presentation golf club by George Doughty
A sterling silver presentation golf club by George Doughty. Attached to the silver shaft are a series of loops which are used to hang match golf balls from it. The grip is made of turned ebony wood and the varnished wood head is inscribed with the name 'Geo. Doughty', most likely the George Doughty who was the pro at the Surbiton, Surrey Golf Club from 1913 to 1920 and later the pro at the Edgware Golf Club in London through the 1920s and 1930s. Mark of William Hutton & Sons Ltd., Sheffield 1913. 45.3 in (115 cm) length.
