The oval miniature painted in watercolour and gouache with gilt highlights on ivory depicts an interior scene of the ornate emperor's suite screen situated in The Khas-Mahal, the emperor's private palace also known as the Red Fort situated in Agra, Northern India. The miniature is displayed within a carved ebony florally decorated easel frame. Miniature: 2 in (5 cm) diameter. Frame: 4.9 in (12.4 cm) height.
