Description:

A Malay or Sumatran ceremonial kris dagger, the blade decorated depicting a gold Naga (dragon / serpent), Malaysia or Indonesia, early 20th century or earlier (the blade is much older). With a carved wooden hilt, the scabbard's wooden top section formed as a boat's keel (wrangka) and the body clad in white metal (possibly silver) profusely decorated in repousse to one side depicting a variety of wild animals amongst foliage. The double edged blade is considerably older, forged with a gilt decorated naga incised with a scales and an extended gilt tail running along the length of the blade. 19.6 in (49.8 cm) total length. 14.2 in (36 cm) length of blade.
