Description:

A late 19th century French faience plate commemorating the American Revolution. Decorated with both the American stars and stripes flag and the French Fleur de Lis flag. The centre is decorated with the American Freedom Bell dated 1776. In the 19th century the bell became an icon for freedom and hence was adopted as a symbol by the American Anti-Slavery Society. 8.8 in (24.4 cm) diameter.
