A large Japanese Kutani charger, Meiji/Taisho period (1868 - 1926). Of circular form, the central fan shaped panel depicting scholars standing beside a waterfall in a rural landscape setting surrounded by further panels depicting birds, flowering peonies and fan tailed gold fish with all panels reserved against a gilt decorated iron red ground, the reverse bearing an eight character mark in iron red. 14.3 in (36.3 cm) diameter.
