A large George V silver twin handled trophy, early 20th century. Of dodecagonal form with equidistantly applied pierced scrolling foliate decoration to the rim, angular scroll handles and supported on an octagonal foot. Mark of Carrington & Co of 130 Regent Street, London 1911. Inscribed 'Campsie Strathblane and Baldernock Agricultural Society, The Fraser Challenge Bowl presented by Hugh Fraser Esq of Dineiddwg Milngavie for the best animal of the Ayrshire breed, bred by exhibitor'. Displayed on an octagonal carved wood plinth applied with white metal plates inscribed with winners in chronological order from 1947 - 1951. 6.7 in (17 cm) height, 13.6 in (34.5 cm) width, 8.3 in (21.2 cm) height including plinth. Weight: 1302 grams.
