A large Chinese jade pendant

Description:

A large Chinese jade pendant. Late Qing dynasty period. Carved in the form of a gui combined with a bi disc and surmounted with scrolling chilongs carved and incised in high relief, diving and emerging amongst clouds, the reverse of the bi disc embellished with raised nodules linked together with incised C-scrolls, enclosed within an incised border with further incised patterns and decoration depicting mythical beasts to the gui, the stone of a translucent pale celadon tone with vertical russet veins. 11.5 in (29.3 cm) length. Provenance: Formerly in the Alexander Taylor collection
