A large Chinese famille verte charger, Kangxi period (1662 - 1722) or later
A large Chinese famille verte charger, Kangxi period (1662 - 1722) or later. Of circular form, decorated to the centre with a roundel overglaze painted with flowers and birds set within a ruyi border and enclosed within a panelled reserve comprising of shrimp and fish amongst foliage set against an underglaze blue and gilt highlighted geometric diaper pattern, the edge of the charger equidistantly painted with lotus flowers and birds. The reverse marked with two concentric underglaze blue circles to the centre and decorated with peonies enclosed within a reserve of fish, shrimp and a geometric diaper pattern. 14.1 in (35.8 cm) diameter.
