A Japanese silver cigarette case


A Japanese silver cigarette case. Decorated with engraved images of a figure both on the interior and exterior and inlaid in copper. Stamped on the inside with the character mark ''Jungin'' meaning ''pure silver''. This mark was used during the Meiji period (1868 - 1912) and beyond to circa 1928. After this date decimal standard marks were employed. 3.3 in (8.5 cm) length, 3 in (7.7 cm) height.
