A Japanese Satsuma bowl. Meiji Period (1868 - 1912) Finely decorated in gilt and various enamels, the exterior painted with butterflies enclosed within bands of patterns with the interior illustrated with two overlapping panels depicting a Japanese court scene and a rural landscape surrounded by butterflies and chrysanthemums amongst swirling floral patterns and floral drapery. Three character Kinkozan signature beneath. 4.8 in (12.3 cm) diameter.
