A George IV parcel silver and glass table centrepiece, early 19th century. Modelled in the form of a neoclassical female figure possibly the Roman agricultural goddess Ceres depicted holding a laurel wreath and adorning upon her head a gilt woven basket issuing a grapevine supporting a large florally engraved glass bowl. The figure stands on a circular base supported on three acanthus scroll feet connected by profusely decorated floral swags. Mark of Samuel Jackson, London 1827. 16.5 in (42 cm) height.
