A George III silver twin handled soup tureen. Of rounded rectangular form with reeded foliate twin handles, gadrooned borders and partially embellished scrolling acanthus decoration to the cover's handle and the four lion paw feet. The foliate C scroll handle is detachable enabling the cover to be flipped over and utilised as an additional entree serving dish. Mark of Benjamin Smith, London 1821. 9.5 in (24.2 cm) height, 16 in (40.6 cm) width, 9.5 in (24.1 cm) depth. Weight: 4668 grams.
