A collection of three 18th Century French gold and mother of pearl pen knives

Description:

A collection of three 18th Century French gold and mother of pearl pen knives. Probably Paris. Consisting of two yellow gold and mother of pearl knives, one with diagonal ribbon bands of gold and a single yellow gold blade opened using a catch mechanism, the other with two parallel yellow gold bands running along the entire length and a double blade opened using a notch on the blades edge together with another similar mother of pearl and rose gold pen knife with diagonal ribbon bands of rose gold and a double blade opened using a notch on the blades edge. All three pen knives are terminated with gold scallop shell patterns at both ends. (3) Measurements of pen knives with blades open are: 8.3 in (21.1 cm) length of yellow gold knife, 8.1 in (20.6 cm) length of yellow gold knife, 7.8 in (19.8 cm) length of rose gold knife.
