Description:

A Chinese jade tiger and bear. Possibly Shang dynasty or later. The tiger of flattened form and pierced through the sides of the jaw is in a crouching position with ears pricked up and is decorated with incised patterns to both the sides and back together with a bear of flattened form, in a seated position and decorated with incised patterns to the body, both stones being calcified white jade with and iron surface residue. 3.1 in (7.9 cm) length, 1.5 in (3.7 cm) height.
