A Chinese jade axe head
A Chinese jade axe head. Possibly late Neolithic/early Shang dynasty. Smoothly polished and drilled with two holes, one to the centre of the head and the other unusually placed along the upper edge with a concave bit and the cutting edge tapered in, the stone of white and brown tone with some calcification. 6.1 in (15.5 cm) length.
