A Chinese jade archer's thumb ring
A Chinese jade archer's thumb ring. Probably Warring States/Han Dynasty period. Of typical form with a circular hole to the upper side leading through to a larger oval shaped hole comfortably to accommodate the thumb and decorated with incised C-scrolls and a horned beast similar to a buffalo to the centre, the stone of mottled olive green tone. 2 in (5.2 cm) length.
