A Chinese ivory glazed tripod censor
A Chinese ivory glazed tripod censor. Song dynasty (960 - 1279 AD). Of cylindrical form, similar to the Archaic bronze Lian form prototype, moulded in shallow relief with five bands, the central band incised with an Archaic Keyfret design and supported by three bracket shaped, tiered feet incised with clouds, the interior and base unglazed. 6.7 in (17 cm) diameter.
