A Chinese Eastern Zhou style jade dragon pendant
A Chinese Eastern Zhou style jade dragon pendant. Probably 19th century. The flat plaque depicting a dragon shown in profile is carved on both sides in shallow relief with a field of comma spirals arranged in rows on a flat ground enclosed within a plain raised border with the head, fins and tail decorated with finely incised lines, the stone of an even translucent pale celadon tone with a russet inclusion incorporated into the head. 4.5 in (11.4 cm) width.
