A Chinese celadon jade carved pendant. Late 19th/20th century. Of oval form and carved in relief depicting Buddha seated, cheerfully admiring a bat flying to his left symbolising happiness and joy with the reverse carved in shallow relief with bamboo shoots symbolising longevity and vitality adjacent to the Chinese character for Buddha enclosed within an oval border, the stone of a pale celadon tone. 2.2 in (5.5 cm) diameter.
