A Chinese celadon and russet jade carving of a mythical beast. Late 19th/early 20th century. The recumbent beast is carved in the round with its hind legs tucked beneath its body, its head turned backwards and seated in a curled up position with its young clinging to its body, the celadon stone with calcified and russet colours incorporated into the hind side. 2.5 in (6.3 cm) diameter.
