Description:

A celadon jade carving of a Buddhist lion. Probably 19th century. The recumbent feline carved in the round is depicted in a curled up position with a large forked tail flicked over one side and with feet carved with sharp claws, the stone of a translucent calcified celadon with russet veins. 2.5 in (6.4 cm) length.
