9 ct yellow and white gold diamond, emerald, ruby and enamel British Royal Army Medical Corps (RAMC) badge brooch. Comprising a white gold wreath enclosing a serpent entwined staff of Asclepius beneath an enamelled red crown, all variously set with rose cut diamonds and circular cut emeralds, the serpent with a ruby cabochon eye, the blue enamelled yellow gold ribbon below bearing the motto 'In Arduis Fidelis' - 'Faithful in Adversity'. Mark of Garrard & Co Ltd of Regent Street, London 1936. Measures 21 x 32 mm. Weight 4.8 grams.
